Quil Ceda Village
Quil Ceda Village is a municipality within the Tulalip Indian Reservation which includes the Quil Ceda Village Business Park, a commercial development constructed and operated by the Tulalip Tribes.〔http://www.quilcedavillage.com/index.asp〕 The complex contains the Tulalip Resort Casino,〔http://www.tulalipresortcasino.com/〕 Seattle Premium Outlets (a 125 tenant open-air mall),〔http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=71〕 Cabela's,〔http://www.cabelas.com/stores/store_info.jsp?pageName=037〕 Walmart, Home Depot, and several restaurants such as Bob's Burger and Brew, Olive Garden, and Ram.〔http://www.restaurantmagazine.com/tag/the-ram-restaurant-and-brewery/〕
In 2001, the Bureau of Indian Affairs approved the Village's status as a municipality and the IRS approved its status as a political subdivision of the Tulalip tribal government under the Indian Tribal Governmental Tax Status Act of 1982, making it the first tribal political subdivision under this Act in the nation and the only other federal city besides Washington, DC. The village is chartered by the tribe as a consolidated borough with council-manager government.
